“BOGDAN 2351” INVOLVED INTO MONITORING AND RENOVATING OF THE DANGEROUS ZONES IN THE JOINT FORCES OPERATION AREA

Since the beginning of hostilities in Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, local infrastructure has been badly damaged and partially ruined. The Joint Operation Forces HQ informs that this has created dangerous condition for local civilians and industry objects.

Thus, the JFO command as well as Ukrainian part of the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination performed a series of recovery operations at the important infrastructure objects.

The mobility of recovery groups is provided by the multi-purpose off-roaders “Bogdan 2351”.

One of the objects threatening local environment the most is located near the terrorist-occupied city of Horlivka. This is a 15-meters deep toxic lake – a sediment pond of the Toretsk phenol plant. The lake has been created 70 years ago. In the course of past 4 years the object remains just on the firing line. It preserves more than 300 thousand tons of toxic substances, namely, phenol, pyridine and sulfuric acid.

The warfare in eastern Ukraine made the phenol plant’s dam to partially sink in. In case of considerable damage, the sediment pond being located on a rise could exterminate everything around. Yet, the recovery works were delayed because of the absence of security guarantees by the Russian-led occupation authorities.

No recovery works are performed if the cars of the Ukrainian part of the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination are absent on site. Their presence is the guarantee that the ceasefire would be kept.

It should be reminded that in spring the Joint Forces have taken the Vilnyi village of Luhansk region under control. This settlement is located near the recently liberated Zolote-4 village which stayed in the so-called “grey zone” for almost 4 years. In the frameworks of social responsibility obligations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Army has delivered humanitarian aid to the settlements, employing the new multi-purpose off-roaders “Bogdan 2351” to execute the task.
